Default starter problems

I bought my first vette about 3 weeks ago. Its a 94 6 speed car . Well about 2 weeks ago the starter was acting up. When i would attempt to start it the starter would only click. I would try this 3 or 4 times and it would start. This morningI started the car up to pull it out of the garage and when I turned the switch off the starter was still trying to start the car .I turned the switch back on and the car started back up.It took 3 or 4 times for the starter to cut off .Anyone that has had this and could help me I would appreciate.

The contacter plates in your starter solenoid are burnt together causing the starter to act like the key is on more than likely. If you don't have power to the solenoid with the key off, then it's time to replace the starter.

Well, it isn't the easiest task, but certainly not the worst. Bit more of a pain on the ground.

Its easier than the sparkplugs. Be sure to unhook the battery cables first!! Sure sounds like a solonoid tho. j
