still more starting problems
whats up guys, id posted this issue a while ago and had no response, but i thought i would give it a try again. my 95 just doesnt like starting the first time i turn the key. ill turn the key and all i hear is a click, i do it a few more times and the car starts. sometimes i only turn the key a couple of times and then it starts, other times i turn the key 15 to 20 times and then it starts. So far i havent been stranded anywhere, it has always started eventually (knock on wood). any suggestions, ive already replaced the battery, and the bolts that hold on the bat. cables. ??????
Sound like a bad starter to me,or a bad connection at the starter solenoid.
The clicking you're hearing is probably thesolenoid.
Ifit were me, I would replaceboth the starter and the solenoid while I had it out.
Checkthe connection at the starter first.

I had the same exact thing happen to my car. I beleive both of our cars use a gear reduction starter. I my case it did turn out to be the starter, because a gear in the reduction assembly cracked. I could turn the key, hear a small click and that would be it. I would turn it several more times and it finally would start. I would have your starter rebuilt. I did mine and it hasbeen fine ever since. I hope your starter is easier to get out then mine was, it was a rean PIA. Good luck.
