transmission cooling line leak
I have a trans leak so i have it up to investigate and this is what i have found. The cooler line has bin disconnected and this round thing about the size of a large fuel filter was installed. It has rubber tubing and double hose clamps on it, this is my leak. I am guessing it is some type filter that was installed after some sort of transmission work or trans cooler work. I would like to remove this thing. anybody no for shore what it is? and your thoughts about removing it?
Thanks Ric W

I'm gonna' try to find a tranny cooler line disconnect point tomorrow, to purge the fluid- I'm doin' a filter/fluid change right now. You think someone cut the line on yers, just for that reason? And then re-connected with a filter?

RE: transmission cooling line leak
hi cwb
I don't think it was installed instead of trans fluid change i think it might be something installed to clean up shavings from previous. trans work or cooler work. I just don't know. It is not stock and is my leak. Thought I might get lucky and find a transmission mechanic out there. sorry cwb I'm a little computer challenged as far as the picture goes. I would like to remove itthough, but I would like to find out what it was for. If i don't get any replies I will probably ask at a transmission shop.
thanks for taking the time. Ill give this thread some time. and then ask around ill let you know what I find.
