Help On a Transmission Line?
Hello everybody
i don't know much about the mechanical side of a corvette so bear with me
this been driving me crazing trying to research this transmission pipe
in this photo is the pipe I'm talking about
but except it been modified to stop a leak it had before
my question is where does that exact pipe lead to ?
does anybody have a diagram
or where could i find this pipe
by looking at the picture do you guys think it would last
my fear is one day that tube would brake

Best guess is that it is an oil cooler line. While the repair may look OK, I'd first want to make sure that the rubber hose repair is up to withstanding the pressure and heat. Also would look at the possibility of replacing the line but that may not be possible due to the routing. Also since there are no barbs on the tubing for the hose to grip, might be prudent to remove and replace the hose after ensuring the ends of the tubing are very clean. Also might double clamp it just for extra clamping force.
If it's not the tranny or oil cooler line, then I'd reconsider the above.
