Default Upper and Lower A-arm install Help !!

Got a few questions for the experts on here. I am helping my buddy with his 1992 and he bought the Kit from Corvette Recyclers with new a-arms ball joints and bushings. Is this something that is fairly straight foward I am a certified mechanic but do not have much experience on the corvettes. We have the Haynes/Chiltons Manual for his car and a good assortment of tools/jacks etc. The only thing that has me worried is the tranverse spring in the front and how to relieve the pressure to replace the lower control arms safely ? I have searched all over the internet for detailed wrtie-up with pics but have had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreaciated as we are going to tackle it this afternoon. Thanks

Patience, grasshopper! I don't remember having any major issues when I did the ball joints on my 84. I used the same tools and procedures I would on a coil spring car. Get 'er up on jackstands and use a jack to lower the a-frame when you knock the ball joint loose.
Good Luck!

Thanks for your input. I started on the drivers side and everything came apart better than expected. Once we got everything back together the new lower ball joint would only tighten so far and the it started to spin ? Compared it to the other side and it seems to be about 1 thread from where is should be before we put in the cotter pin. I can't figure out how to tighten it more with it spining around ? Any ideas ?

Put pressure on it with a jack under it or c-clamp the spindle to the a-frame and hit it with an impact wrench. It seems like the blows from an electric impact are sharper or something than the air gun. The electric will sometimes tighten things the air won't? Is it bottomed out? Maybe you need a washer under the nut?
Good Luck!
