*nods* Me too! Same exact thing. Car had PUH-LENTY more to go, but my nerves certainly did not.

I used to have a pretty nice 66 Ford Galaxie with a totally built 390 in it... man, that goes back way too many years... used to drive like that, but like you said "I hate having nerves" sometimes... it cramps my ability to "explore" the outer edges of the cars performance. But I find in this day and age, it's not me per se, it's the other idiots on the road that worry me... stuff happens fast at speed an' I don't carry a change of pants with me in the car... maybe that's my first mistake.

 

Well i got a 84 and she needs a new o2 sensor becuse she has a lose of power and is flooding bad and the fastest she would ever let me go was 122 mph which is fast enough being i am only 16.

 

Last year, i raced an RSX and my speedo said i was pushing about 140. But now that my car is actually built for the speed, i havent had it over half of that lol. Maybe its the fact that after 4 speeding tickets, i have only one positive point on my record. I like the power but i think its pretty much just there for bragging rights and to get up to 60 quciker than anyone haha

I've had mine for about 2-3 weeks and the first day I had it, I took it to 130 (about 3 1/2 - 4 krpm) before I ran out of room. I nearly ran over some pokey doing 80 on the interstate as he approached someone else doing the speed limit (70). How dare they go so slow I'm guessing it will do about 170 before redline. It wasn't the speed that bothered me so much as it was coming down and not knowing if I had enough road left. I think the first thing I'll be looking to improve is the brakes. It's a '94 (not Z1). So far, it's stock and I am very impressed. I've had/worked on small block cheverolets most of my life but this is my first corvette. I'm 40 so it's my time. I'll probably wet myself after I do some work to it. I wouldn't mind a few more ponies for cheap. Any suggestions?

stock 1984 c4... 167,000 miles top speed 115... seems decent for a engine thats 22 years old. Thats my baseline, before the restomod .. my goal... 210..

 

I tried to be strong !!!! Made 130 ,but chickened out again

 

One night,I kid you not,I took it all the way to 172 on the digital speedo.Totally stable and true(96 LT1 with no major mods).Turned around and drove home at 65,still excited like a kid at a candy store.
