Start by checking power source & then the switch. Has a 30A circuit breaker in the I/P fuse block.

If the other window is working it's probably the switch?

Could be a broken window ribbon.

It probably will take 5 minutes to check it like vis said (which is the best advice). Most folks would deploy the Fully Automatic Assault Wallet[sm=shootshoot.gif][sm=violent053.gif], and buy a newpiece of glass, then a new door ("Yipee, It's fixed! The door was bad."), ECM, etc., ...

If you hear a clickin' sound, the drive gearin' is worn like lee said. But if you DON'T, itCOULDstill be the drive...

The window regulator in yours is all metal gears. More than likely, you have a bad motor or switch.

It could be electrical. My passenger window didn't work for 2 weeks, then started working again. I discovered since the weather stripping is bad on that side (at the time), it was leaking water inside the door and possibly causing a short. I'm guessing after the water evaporated the short was no longer there and presto: I haven't had problems since.

Either that, or my car carries the uncanny ability to regenerate itself .

Nice year and color of vette BTW.Mine's a twin, sort of.

If you can rule out the switch, then it is more than likely the motor on yours.[:@]

A dealership and/or repair shop will try to tap you for the whole "shebang" motor and armature assembly.

However, all you have to do on a C4 is drill out the rivets on the old motor and order a new motor from one of the MANY online sites. $70 versus $400.

Buy rivets and tool, $30 at Home Depot.

Find somebody patient and competent enough to deal with a Vette door

Or ask and I have the procedures for unassembly and reassembly for the window motor[8D] With pictures[8D]

When we first got our 93 the passenger side window wouldn't roll down. The fuse was OK. Got some tuner/contact cleaner at Radio Shack and gave the switch a shot or two. Worked fine after that. Hope your fixis that simple.
