I think I have a wiring issue with my battery my battery keeps dying with the car off and I was driving it and for some reason my ground on my battery melted does anyone have any idea why it’s doing that 1985 c4 350

 

Sounds like a short somewhere. Start following your cables and make sure the positive hasn't rubbed a bare spot. Also check out the wires on the back of the alternator. Take a look where the wires go through the firewall as well. If it has an aftermarket stereo check that wiring too.

 

Welcome to the forum. Since you said the ground cable was melted which I assume you meant insulation, then I'm betting on a short in the positive cable somewhere. Maybe somewhere around the starter would be a good place to look also.
