Default Brake Pedal Return Spring

Hey folks, working on my 1995 base and the brake switch has been properly adjusted, but the pedal doesnt come all the way back up most of the time. It stops about 1/4" to 1/8" from the top and I raise it the rest of the way with my foot. I cant tell if the brakes are still dragging at that point or not. I have tested it many times, but it might all be in my head when I think that sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesnt. Anyways, I cant find the return spring listed on any parts websites. Where can I get a new one?

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried your local Chevy parts department?

Brake pedals don't have a return spring. You may need to rebuild the master cylinder.

Make sure your brake pedal pivot is not hanging up at the top pivot. Maybe needs lube, bent or dragging on something. You should be able to check it with your hand and feel any restriction, it would be easier with the engine running. or it could be like Harley said, the master cylinder has springs in it and brake fluid to push the pedal back. Good luck..
