Default 2000 vette with a few issues

Hello everyone
Im new to the forum and new to vette ownership. I have recently purchased a 2000 corvette that was a lost interest project. this car came from Texas and now resides with me in Ontario Canada. I got the car mostly in pieces due to the previous owner having an engine fire. the car came with 90% of the parts to finish it up and i have chipped away at it to get it running and diving again.
I have a few weird issues with the car currently.

1 the instrument cluster acts up. the coolant temp gauge will spike, and the oil pressure gauge will zero out at the same time and then come back after about 15 sec and repeat periodically as well as the voltage gauge never moves (always at 12.5v) even though the car is charging. Also the buttons for the DIC do not appear to be working so i am unable to access the onboard codes without a code reader. my first thought is the cluster will need to be replaced.

2 the driver door window and lock do not currently work but the door switch will control the passenger door and the power mirrors.

3 heater control buttons are not all working (suspect i need a new or have mine repaired)

if anybody can point me in a direction for trouble shooting that would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forums Farmer! Sounds like you picked a jewel. Lots of people on these forums can give you a few thoughts on your issues. Here's my 2 cents, how bad was the fire damage wise? oil fire or fuel fire? condition of wiring? Sounds as if you have an electrical short to the instrument cluster, on a reset breaker it will kick out then come back on seconds later, could be related to the fire or not. I would check the wires and connectors. Same with the door function, bad wires or bad switches maybe. You can have instrument clusters repaired, hard to find replacements. Hvac controls have 12 volts? Maybe Fuse. Replace only most of the time. Sounds like you need a good test light and ohm meter.

Welcome to the forum . Good advice from Thomas. Any type of vehicle fire would make me suspicious of wiring harnesses in the area of the fire. Complete wiring harnesses are available from aftermarket Corvette suppliers.
