just bought a 99 frc with 18000 miles on it and am wondering about the add-ons on this car! it has a roll bar 5 point harnesses hotchis suspension car has been lowered k&n filter headers STRAIGHT PIPES some kind of electric pumps mounted inside of fender wells looks like oil pumps 1 says trans other says diff tie rod ends on front are completely wore out what was this car set up for?

 

It sounds like it was set up for road racing. The frc makes a good road racer since it is a bit lighter than the coupe and stiff with the fixed roof. The two pumps - trans and diff, probably are to force-feed oil coolers for the transmission and differential -- a lot of road racers install heavy duty cooling because it really is hard on them. The roll cage, the straight pipes, and the suspension being shot is no surprise either given the road racing. the car very likely has at least a cam, maybe a head and cam package on it, too, given that most road racers go that route.
