has anyone r+r ed the pass. side actuator on an 01 coup? can i go through the radio or glove compartment or pull top of dash? tried batt reset, code b0446. the driverside is very cold ,pass side very hot.tanks
I've recently went thru and (still have), the same basic problem. Two weeks ago, my system went hot and I knew it was out of freon. I had it checked, and they re-charged it with freon and (dye) and said drive it for a couple of weeks, and then we will check for the dye showing where it is leaking.Did that, and it was from an O-ring on the firewall which they replaced and re-charged the system. Then, all of a sudden they tell me and the scanner (as well as my own check via the DTC's the nextday), the passenger side ducts are blowing hot while the center and drivers side blow cold.
The (labor chargealone), to get to andcheck out that door that is (not closing/opening) properly is over 4 plus hours......!!! My solution is that (whomever) is ridingwith me is gonna be warm while I enjoy cool air causeI'm not investing the total cost to solve this one.........

P.S. Understand that these models do NOT HAVE HEATER CONTROL VALVES as most did in the past. This means that the (door) in question slides closed to block off heat from the heater core for a/c operation and opens (partially) to "blend" warmer air as necessary or opens all the way to allow full heat from the heater core. While the actual problem could be a bad (Body Control module), and bad (HVAC module),I'm told it's most likely a bad plastic gear that drives the(door) open and closed.
