The best single mod you can make to this car is to put a good set of long tube headers on it. A cold air intake will make a change you can barely feel, but a good set of 1 3/4 inch long tube headers, even with the stock cat back (which is pretty good) will add power and gobs of mid range torque and "attutide" to the car. You will love it.

I know, I have an 02 ZO6 and this was the first mod I did - marvelous return on the money.

You should know, however, that long tube headers are illegal in CA on C5 Corvettes. If you do live in CA, a cold air intake will get you 12+ rear wheel HP. For $300, that's a great bang for the buck mod.

I think ucantstunt lives in Virginia, just north of me. I know scads of folks there with LT headers of C4s, C5s, C6s and Camaros, etc. so either its legal or no one cares.

Just another reason to avoid California.

....not quite, Lee......ATI, Vortech, and Maggy super chargers are legal here, so I wouldn't give up on 75 degree January weather because of a perceived lack of legal performance mods! In fact, one of the best supercharger gurus is just north of me - A&A Corvettes. Andy is nationally known as one of the best.

Dave, Lee;

I have installed a Vararam cold air intake and cat back Corsa on a '04 LS1 6spd. trying to stay out of block...that is WAY over my head. What is the next best step for RWHP?

Long tube headers (+25 HP) with oversize cats, and if you plan no further mods, a change to 1.8:1 rocker arms and heavy duty springs and retainers (another 15-20 HP) and then a good tuning by a shop that know what it is doing (to make it all work right) - just make sure the rev limiter works well if you do the those rockers.

GREAT! thanks Lee.

can i get the headers in w/o pulling out the engine?

A local GM dealer has a good rep. on Vett work here in Denver. Do you think I need a specialist to do the rockers & springs or could a dealership get it done?

any value to an aftermarket MAF?
