Default Battery

Hope someone knows if I’m getting the run around from Chevy. Took my vette into a Chevy dealer for service. It’s been sitting for 18 months and they had to put a new battery in. They told me I had to drive the car for about 100 miles and could not go over 50 mph in order for the computer to reset. Thanks

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear about your chevy dealer experience. You didn`t mention the year of your car. The only thing I can think of is maybe they sent something out for repair and they had to wait for parts to repair it. Is it under warranty? I have never heard of a repair taking that long, 100 miles and fifty mph, for reset never heard of that story before.
I can`t imagine the story they gave you, I would love to hear it. You could find out who the regional GM director or supervisor is for that area. shoot that person a letter and explain your situation and see what happens. Good Luck, Let us know your outcome, I`m curious. (Dont be so nice maybe. pissed off crabby customers get quick attention most of the time)

Welcome to the forum. Are you saying that the dealer had it for 18 months? Or it sat at your place for 18 months?

Maybe it is sitting at her house, any battery that`s not used monthly should have a trickle charger on it.

Agree, even a disconnected battery setting for 18 months will go flat to the point it won't start a car.
