Default C5 gets stuck in gear

Hello everybody

My 65k mile c5 started putting itself halfway back into gear with the clutch depressed after around 10 seconds or so.

Spoke with some mechanics, did a lot of research. Ended up deciding to replace the whole clutch, because if it's a faulty master cylinder I'll still need to bleed the slave cylinder - this require taking off the midpipe. If I do that rather just take everhthing else off and replace the clutch. Would suck if I do all this and it ends up being the slave cylinder, I don't want to waste money on getting the midpipe dropped twice

Questions

1) Anyone here know a mechanic who specialize in sports cars, or even better corvettes only in SF Bay Area?

2) which clutch kits for street would y'all recommend? Similar to the feel of the stock c5 clutch & not too expensive. Definitely don't need it to be 'heavier' . I liked the slightly notchy shifting & very responsive & clear bite point.

Hated the soggy feel of the clutch on an e46 m3 I drove with similar miles. I feel I won't enjoy driving this car anymore if the clutch ends up feeling like that. Maybe it was broken but I couldn't even tell where the bite point was, felt as if I could shift without even pressing the clutch, felt very loose. I need opposite of this

3) Which exact parts would I need? This is where my knowledge of car anatomy end. What comes with a clutch kit, what do I have to buy separate?

4) What exactly do I need to make sure the mechanics align properly? Flywheel, shifter, pedal right? Dumb question probably, I just heard something get misaligned during clutch jobs and it's a pain in the *** to deal with & can cause the clutch to wear out very quickly again. I want to get this over with and forget about it for years

I know this is big post but even a small reply I would appreciate. Thank yoy

Welcome to the forum
Besides the clutch itself, you should consider replacing the throw-out bearing and the pilot bushing.

I will do this just because they're cheap parts and the ones on there have been there for 23 years now, but I am not experiencing any noise, vibrations, etc. clutch pedal feels good.

I feel some notchiness shifting gears but I assume this is from lack of pressure making the clutch drag, so I completely stopped driving the car while I'm fixing this issue. Don't want to cause damage. I doubt I've damaged the synchros in the transmission because this issue is new & I've put less than 150 miles on the car since first encountering it, and the t56 is very sturdy from what I know.

I'm replacing the master cyl in a few days, if that doesn't help I'll get a full clutch job done.
