I have purchased a used 2001 with the dual climate control. The display is very dim when you first start the car. After about 15 min. it becomes a little more visable. I have turned up the panel lights as high as they go. Am I missing somthing? Also the #2 and #4 radio preset buttons are not lit at night. Please help!! thanks

 

Never mind I found the answer about 9 pages back. Sounds like a new head unit.

 

where did you find the answer... my climate control takes about 30 seconds to fade in after i start the car...

 

on this forum about 8 pages back. the bottom line was that there is a grounding issue in the head unit. The only fix is to open it up and attemt tpo resolder or replace the unit. The guy with the answer gives a link to a supplier of the head units and says they are about 250.00

actually I had found a link before that dealt with some pieces in the circuit that needed soldered again...I guess a lot of people were having that issue. I am having the issue but I am not brave enough to tear into it....

 

Actuallly, if you look on ebay under corvette climate control, there are several shops that will swap you a refurbished unit with a 5 year warranty for under $100. I swapped mine and its exactly like new.
