Default Cruise Control problems!

Hi everybody, first time poster, looking for some advice on where to start troubleshooting my cruise control for my 99 c5. It was working fine, then one day it just won't turn on. Besides checking the fuse, what else can I check? Cruise control amplifier? I don't eve know where its at or how to check it! Any help is greatly appreciated.

I usually post in the C4 section because thats what i own and im not sure how the setup is on the C5 but in the C4's the cruise control in located on the drivers side of the car in the engine bay right behind the left front tire. All cruise control is apparently vacuum controlled from what ive been told and one of my lines just one day popped off while i was driving and it caused my cruise control not to work. I put it back on and put a zip tie around it to keep it there. Maybe it will be the same for you, but im not sure. Hope that helped.

Might need someone to throw a scanner on it to check for cruise control problems before you start throwing parts at it. That gets expensive.

My cruise control also refused to engage. Found out that the switch used to disengage cruise, behind the brake pedal, needed to be adjusted. Evidentally, the switch was constantly being "engaged" by the brake pedal.
