Default Dash Board Removal (replacing climate control)

Hello,

I am brand new to this fourm, signed up not even 5 mins ago...i accutly didn't releize this fourm was here till i started workin on my corvette...and needed some help
i have a 2002 C5 (obviously). The lights on my climate control have since faded and are impossible to read. I ordered the new part from GM and it arrived the other day. I sat down in my car and managed to get every screw out of the center console part, which encloses the climate control/stero/shifter/ashtray

well i know its lose but it will not come out... i have used alittle bit of force, but like any thing i fear to really pull on it... i am curious if any one could give me a hand here

Thanks Alot

Scott

Scott,

You have to start with removing the center armrest. Vetteesentials have some great instructions for installing their products. These might help: http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...t_install.html

Good Luck,

what he said.

open armrest console and take out the nuts holding it down, then move seats forward and lift it up and back slowly, then unplug the 12v plug and the traction control wires, then it will be free.

Then you should see some more nuts to take off, and make sure you get the torx screw over by the ignition too (under a little pop off cover).

Be nice and dont let your temper get to ya. Break to many of those plastic parts and it really adds up $$$
