Electric Water Pump
Welcome to the forums. Yes the 12volt wire should be the trigger wire to the relay from the ignition switch (off-On). There needs to be a constant (Big 12volt wire source) at the relay and from the relay to the pump. I'm not sure what the water pump needs for power but it has to be at best 25 to 35 amps to make it work. The relay power wire runs to the pump motor then there should be a big black wire that runs to engine ground. with the key (ignition) on the pump should operate. Most of the time..
Check for a wire that shows 12 volts with the key in the "on" position. You can use a multimeter to confirm this. Once you find the right source, connect it to the relay's trigger terminal. Make sure your ground connections are solid as well. If everything else is wired correctly, this should activate the pump when the ignition is on. If you're still having issues, double-check https://tropical-casino.com/ all connections and ensure there are no shorts or loose wires.
