I have a very unusual problem, with the engine running and you close the passenger door, the information center and guages all go haywire,messages include; reduced engine power,service active handling, abs service,service engine soon,door ajar, and a few more that I cant remember, plus no functions on the door will work, if you open the door the door functions will work. If you close the door before cranking no problems, but still no door functions, unless you open it. Please help this is driving me crazy.

 

Sounds like some chaffed wires in the door loom, maybe grounding out or touching each other.

 

I agree. I think you probably have a short in the wire loom leading into the door from the body of the car - it is in the small articulated plastic hose that leads into the front door edge.
