Default Front Wheel Bearing Replacement

Had my 2001 in for an oil change, and was told the front wheel bearings need replacing, $869.00 for the job. I found Simkin bearings for $369.00 and need to know if $500 labor to install them is reasonable. I will gladly pay it, but it is my first vette and want to be sure I'm not being taken. Thanks for any advice. Charl

Apparently, Timkin is the way to go with their $180 cost being significantly less than the equivalent SKF bearings. Since they are not too dificult to replace, there's probably no need to have to go to a dealership. Most alignment shops do this on a regular basis.

I've changed them myself w/o an alignment
it takes about an hour to swap bearings on one side , max......on a rack , about an hour , with air tools for both......
