Gas Gauge Quit...

RE: Gas Gauge Quit...
Well I just went out this morning, it seems to be working fine. So it brings two possibilities to light in my opinion. its either the Sulphur build up I have read about in numerous forums or I have a electrical problem that his heat sensitive (the hot exhaust caused it to create a short or something). I'm jacking the car up during the next week to do a complete underbody review because I have only had the car a week anyway.
With that being said....How far do you guys usually get mileage wise on a tank around town?? When the gas gauge goes out it takes the 'Range' gauge with it, if I reset my trip meter each tank I can watch my mileage and know how 'close I am' if I'm out and about. Problem is I only had the car a week and won't get to the bottom of a tank for a while, since its a weekend only car.
So whats your average tank mileage like?? I know everyone is different but having a rough average is better then nothing...which I have now.
