This was my other choice when I got my Callaway. I went with the Callaway because it was smog legal, but also because it relocated the MAF. The stinger is also good though, but I'm afraid your not going to get the HP gain your expecting. If you get 5 Hp out of it you'll be doing good, Lets face it your just not going to get the rated Hp they advertise.
If I were you i would go with the programmer, I think you'll be much happier, than put the intake on after that.

Here's how I did with Borla Stingers and Halltech Stinger intake:

Stock: 316 RWHP, 337.7 RWTQ

After mods: 329 RWHP, 352.2 RWTQ

That's an increase of 13 RWHP and 14.5 RWTQ,

Even if you convert the STD-correction to SAE, this means that my C5 is pumping out over 375 HP and 400 lbs-ft of torque.

To ensure that the Stinger always get cold air, I made my own CAI mod, which you can read about in detail here:

http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/corvette_c5_corner.htm

It's under "Cold air modification for Halltech.........."

Also, check out my other installation, maitenance instructions as well.

Dave
