how to change oil on 1999 vette
I recently purchased an 99 c5 and the owners manual says to contact a chevrolet dealer or purchase a manual for instructions on oil change- I have a 95 also and wondering what is different about changing the oil on the 99 vs 95
thanks

I'm not sure about a 95, but with the C5, you should try to get the back end up a bit higher than the front since the oil drain plug is at the front of the pan. Before my C5 was lowered, I'd simply drive up on Rhino ramps and then jack up the rear at the center of the cross member, before placing jack stands under each suspension pivot joint. Be sure to use wood, plastic or aluminum in between the jacks and the aluminum cross member.
Now that my C5 is lowered on stock bolts, I first drive up on home-made wooden ramps so that the car is high enough for me to slide the hydraulic floor jack underneath the front and rear. The front is still supported by the Rhino ramps and the rear, by jackstands with the floor jack as a backup.
You will need 6.5 quarts of 5W-30, 0W-30, or even 0W-40 synthetic oil (I use Mobil 1).
