Shouldn't have any problems jackin up the front end and putting jack stands under it since the oil drain is in the back of the pan.

I used to drive up on Rhino ramps, but after I lowered my C5, that became impossible. So, I cut some low-profile (10 degree) ramps out of 6 x 6 lengths of wood. With one of these in front of each tire, I drive up high enough to get my 19-inch hydraulic floor jack under the front crossmember. (in its cradle is a PVC disc to protect the aluminum crossmember). I then jack up the front high enough to place jack stands underneath and then do the same in the rear. Alternatively, you may be able to jack up one corner at a time using a jacking puck and a low-profile aluminum racing jack.
If you have tons of money, "Racing Ramps" will do the trick ($200 a pair).

As for oil - Mobile 1, 5W-30, 6.5 quarts (buy 7, of course)
oil filter: K&N (has a welded-on nut for easy unscrewing and tightening)

Don't forget to change your antifreeze every 5 years. Other than that you should be good to go.
