HUD and MPG reverts back--no memory! Anyone?

HUD and MPG reverts back--no memory! Anyone?
If I don't drive my 2001 for a couple days, the HUD goes back to the original setting of OIL and the MPG goes back to 0. Does anyone else have this problem? It drives me crazy because I like to keep track of the gas mileage! Is there a fix or does this happen in all 2001's and other years?
