Default Just Bought a 98

Man I love this car!! The guy that owned it first took great care of this car. It only has 60K and there is not a mark on it. The carfax is clean and everything appears to be great. I just finished a complete check of the entire car and its systems. The stearing Column Lock issues has been addressed. The coolant is at the correct level and mix. The radiator is clean, and the air cleaner is new. The hoses are in great shape and both fans work correctly. I pulled the codes and found eleven, with nothing major. I recorded the codes and cleared them out. Am I missing anything, is there anything elsse I should check? The first owner kept all of the maintanance records and everything is up to date.

There is one code that would not clear out: under the SCM - B0856 H. My list of codes does not show this one so I do not know what it is, or why it will not clear, does anyone know?

Thanks for your warm welcome
If I can just make it past this newbee phase

kimber B0856H is a history code for 5 volt reference out of range. Sorry don't know why it won't clear. Found the code on www.corvettedoctor.com. Hardluck

Thanks Hardluck

I will check out that web site, and make a few calls, maybe I can figure out why it won't clear.

Roger,

Congrats on the car. Post pictures.
If you google "dtc B0856" you find either:
DTC B0856 5 Volt Reference Out of Rangeor
B0856 Battery 2 Out of Range (with B0846 as 5 Volt Reference Out of Range).

I don't know what either mean but the H means that it's a History code (meaning it happened in the past and is not currently a problem).

Enjoy your car. And yeah, it would be great if you will post some pics.

Congratulations on your new auto. Now... Get out there and put on miles and miles of smiles! I've had my 99 FRC since 2001, put tons of miles on it, and I'm just as in love with that car now as I was the first day I drove it home.

Keep us posted, and if possible ... put up some pics.
