I have a rather stupid question.. I just purchased a 1998 convertible .. it came with 3 non functioning keyless remotes.. I purchased a new one off of amazon and it is w/o the passive switch. It works great.. after fiddling with the three non op remotes I switched parts around between the 3 and got a second one to work..although it looks terrible ( cracked case and worn buttons) the other two look as worn.. . I know for other GM vehicles such as trucks and suv's you can buy the replacement case with out the electronics, why dont they offer just the case for the 1997-2000 c5 Corvettes ?

 

I assume you already checked for those on Amazon or Ebay. I was able to find new cases for an 07 Ford Escape and 06 Jeep Liberty. Surprised to hear that you can't find one for a C5.

 

It is odd, I can find the cases for almost every GM vehicle with the exception of the 1998-2000 c 5 .
