Mods
Hi all, my wife has posted with a "hard to shift post" in our Z06 corvette this is my first post as I just bought a 2004 Z06 with only 1473 miles on it,the car is not broke in yet so I think the transmission will get better with use. However i am looking at doing a couple of mods, cold air induction and exhaust. I am looking at the Borla and some others. The Borla is 1600 for a cat back and i saw one called "pipes" cat back for 600. I have a Borla on my Mustang and it sounds great as expected. Does anyone have any feed back on the Pipes system? If it is a good system i would much prefer to pay 600 vs 1600. Thanks
PS: love this car this is my first Corvette wanted one since 55 as my license plate states 54-YR-WT.

George,
You should be able to get Borlas for less than $1600. I bought mine (Stingers) a few years ago for $550 (brand new). Since they are made of stainless steel, you can almost be sure that used ones will last, as long as there is no custom work done to them. Keep in mind that with many cat-back systems, there will be a drone at certain rpms and engine loads. Since my 01 has pup-cats, the drone is minimal, but I drove an 03 Z06 with Borla Stingers and the drone was more pronounced. Still, you just can't beat that Borla sound!
