Default orifice tube

Hello, swapping out my a/c compressor, drier and orifice tube on my 2000. Referencing my service manual, it tells me what it does but not where it is. Anybodywith some info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's usuallyinside the high pressure line just before it goes into the evaporator coil. Just disconnect the high pressure line at the evaporator, you should be able to see it once the line is disconnected. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to grab it with, and pull it straight out. It acts as a filter too, so be carefully and don't let any trash, if any, fall back into the line. The new one should just press back in.

Hey Rodney, thanks for the advice. I found it earlier and buttoned everything up. By the way that problem I had on my 85 was a fuel pressure regulator. I put an adjustable one in there, dialed in 45# and she runs like a champ, will definitely hold its own against my C5, which isn't stock. Talk to you later.
Lyle.

Glad to hear you got it ironed out Lyle. I need to do the same to mine,it only has32 psi, and I feel it would do much better if the pressure was a little higher. Did you need to remove the plenum to replace the regulator?

Hello Rodney, all you need to do is loosen the side runners and remove the center airbox. The new regulator will come with new upper runner gaskets. I picked up my adjustable fuel pressure regulator from Mid America, but Summit has it for much less. See you later.
