Default Polishing Calipers

I'm taking my calipers in to get powder coated and wanted to clean up/ polish the brushed aluminum part where it says Corvette on the front. I don't want to ruin the finish with anything too aggressive, I just want to clean it up and a few letters are a bit dull. Not sure what I should use. Steel wool? Fine grit sandpaper?

Are you masking them off to prevent the powder coat from covering them? Since its aluminum, whatever you do to clean up the letters will not be long lived because they will oxidize unless you put some form of clear coat on them after you clean them. As far as to how to clean them, I would start with the least aggressive material and work up from there 'til you get the finish you're looking for. But like I said above, you'll need to clear coat them and then mask them off to prevent the powder coat from covering them.
