Default Pulley kits?

Has anyone here installed any pulley kits on their vette? I've heard you can gain some extra hp by installing pulleys that turn your accessories slower than stock for around $210. Just wondering if that will mess with the a/c, alternator, and is it worth the hp gains if any? Thanks!

Default RE: Pulley kits?

Yeah, I had one on both Chevies, still have it on the Camaro. It adds a bit of HP but only a bit -- maybe 5 HP -- at high RPM because it is not spinning the accersories as fast. Also, usually you see it used on modifed engines with cams which are idling faster than stock (1100 rather than 800 RPM) so it sort of counteracts that and results in the same net accessory speed as stock.
