Default Rear Window Defroster

I accidentally knocked the power wire from my hatch window defroster. Took it to Chevy and they claim I need to replace the window. I honestly don't know how that is going to fix the problem. I would really appreciate any advice or ideas how to fix this before I hand over $789.00 plus labor to Chevy. It's a 2001 C5 coupe. Thanks in advance, Charl

You might try the rear window defogger grid repair kits that use a conductive epoxy to glue the wires back on.

Ok, just went to reattach the wires and it appears there are two, I assume a positive and negative. After looking at where I'm attempting to reattach the wires there is no obvious spot where I would attach the negative and positive. I've been online looking for a diagram but to this point no luck. Again, any help is appreciated

The grid is not polarity sensitive so you can reattach the + and - to either spot.
