Serious help needed!!
Ok I'm new to the website but have been a corvette owner for the past 5 years. I have a 2002 corvette z06 with afr heads and cam so it does have some mods on it. well down to whats going wrong I was just driving down the street yesterday and noticed my coolant temp started rising up pretty rapidly. I proceeded to pull off onto a side street when i felt my power steering felt very hard to steer. I thought to my self ok the belt has probably slipped off as i just replaced it the other day. i popped the hood and to my knowledge the best was still in place perfectly fine with tension in it and every i replaced the thermostat the tensioner and the belt all last night and had the alternator checked they said the alternator was bad. I checked to make sure my fans were running when i had the car running after fixing everything they do. I noticed right before i shut off the car when i went to turn the steering wheel barely the belt just stopped spinning like something was holding it back any help would be appreciated looks like all the pulleys are free spinning to me.

You may have air or debris in the power steering system. If this is the case, you may need to bleed and purge your entire power steering system, requiring 4 qts of power steering fluid. Make sure that you use the proper fluid!

To anybody who ever has this problem. I sent the car down to the shop and the inner part of the crank case pulley had broke apart and was spinning fast enough to spin the outer part of the pulley just not fast enough which was causing the over heating no power steering and the alternator not to charge the battery. Hope this can help out anybody in the near future. labor and everything was around $400.
