Default side window scratched glass

On my 2001 triple black convertible, on the driver side window, there is a vertical scratch in the middle of the window approximately six inches long. It seems to have been caused by something rubbing against the window as it was retracted down into the door. Has anybody else had this problem with a C5 Corvette? Do you think it is something that can be polished out by a good glass man? I really don't want to have to spend the money to have a new window installed, which would be around $500.

Hi dominicpom
Nice lookin' Vette. Love the triple black.

Anyway I have used this stuff from Eastwood Co. before, and I have had excellent results with it. i went ahead and sent you a link to the page for some of the kits. I used the polishing kit for deep scrathches on my 52 chevy, and it removed, I would say 99% of the scratch and brought the glass back to a very nice NEW looking finish.
It's important that you follow th instructions just as they say however, but it is very easy to do.
Here's the link

A good glass company should be able to do this also, it took me about 20 minutes per glass.

Hi Dominic,
Cool looking vette!!!
My C5 has a few scratches in the passenger side window. I was told the previous owner took the vette to a touchless car wash and the scratches were caused by the solution they use. I have been putting off getting them polished, but now thanks to Rich, I'll just buy the product he recommended.

Thanks, Rich!!
