Default Too Lean??

I just installed a halltech stinger on my 02 Z06 and have driven about 300 miles and yesterday an engine light came on and i read the code with a hand held. IT said running too lean banks 1 and 2. All i have on my car is a Granatelli MAF, Borla Stingers, and now the Halltech stinger. I cleared the code too see if it was a fluke but then it came on again with too lean banks 1,2,3, and 4. So should i take off the halltech intake until i get it tuned or do ya'll think something is wrong? I am not driving it b/c i know too lean is bad just needing some advice.
thanks

Just get a tune asap and hopefully that will fix the problem. If it does that isa pretty cheap fix.

That is a bad code.Running rich is okay as long as the car drives well, but running lean can be damaging. Get it looked at by a good shop. It is very rare that the mods you report wouldpush a car over the limit, though, so, I'd say there is a 50% chance this is not related (a bad injector, etc., instead)

Either way, it's something just about urgent to get done.

What's a bank?

Lean mix will warm up a twister very high. I saw a pic once of some outpipes glowin' from the extreme exhaust of a lean burn.

I bet this is a re-calibration issue... I'd get some tech readin' stuff before cash disbursements are made.

But what is a bank???[sm=smiley25.gif]

A bank is a set of cylinders. The 'vette has two, one is the four cylinders on the left and the other is the four cylinders on the right side of the V8. The ECM can't distinguish lean versus rich combustion more than whether it is to the right or left side because it only has two sensors, one on the right and one on the left exhaustcollectors. I can't remember now which bank is left or right, 1 or 2.

Code PO171 is fuel system trim lean bank 1, PO172 is richon that bank. POs 173 and 174 the same for other side of the engine.
