Track Use/Noise
I've had my car for a couple of months now. It's a 2001 six sp coupe with about 30,000 miles. I've been a track junkie for the past 20 years with the Porsche club and will soon take this car for its maiden trip. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendation for occasional track prep? I want to keep it very streetable and not turn it into a track car......I have been down that expensive road and learned my lesson.
Also, I just returned from a 1000 mile road trip. It seems that the car is fairly noisy inside compared to the 911. Is is just the echo effect??????? Does anyone have any suggestions for easing the noise?? Seems like a lot of tire rumble from the Goodyears....can that be damped????
Thanks

First of all, if you have runflats, dump em for a set of Goodyear GSD3s. If you feel that you will trash the tires every other outing and don't want to spend a fortune, Kuhumos are very inexpensive, They don't come close to the grip of the GSD3s, but if you need throwaway tires, the Korean one are good choices.
As far as the noise issue, here's a link to a procedure that will dampen much of the noise:

I intend to do this one of these days.
