Default turn signal problem

Just bought my first Vette. I think I did ok on price. It's a 2001 Magnetic Red with Silver/Black interior with 22500 miles on it ($27,000). The car was garage kept and doesn't have a blemish on it inside or out. The only problem I seem to be having is my turn signals work intermittenly. I tried my hazards when the turn signals were out and they worked so I assume the flasher is ok. Of course unless there is a seperate flasher for the turn signals only??? Anyone else had this problem?

Also, my car has a clear roof and I live in South Florida and I was wondering how hard it would be to get a solid colored roof panel>

Will add some pics once I figure out how.

Thanks

.....great choice of color! I have the same year with slightly different interior color, but with the same number of miles. I have not had any turn signal problems, but my steering wheel horn activation does not work. I plan on having the dealership take a look (under the GMPP warranty) before long. As far as the targa top, you might want to scan the parts for sale section in the corvetteforum since they do have tons of traffic passing through.

Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the site I have a '98 with about the same amount of miles as yours and haven't run into that problem yet. As for your top issue there is a lot cheaper way to fix your heat problem. You can actually buy a liner that goes on the inside of your targa top and will block the sun. Here is a link to one for sale at Mid America Motorworks: Click Here

I had the same problem with the turn signals and had to have the turn signal assembly replaced. I'm not saying it is the problem on yours, but that is what mine did. Sometimes it would work, sometimes they would not.

Try the Eckler's catelog or web site for your top: they have lots of special stuff like that.

I have a 2001 Corvette black on black with Targa top. I bouth it 03-27-06 with 37,000 miles, no problems except for the turn signal works when it wants to, I thought it had fixed itself but on the way to work today it stopped working again. It is 100 degrees today here in Maryland I may have to taske it to a shop, but any advice or info would be helpful, thank you.

We just bought our first corvette as well its a 2001 speedway white and it was doing the same thing we took it back to the car lot and the mechanic called one of his gm buddies and and he replaced the relay switch that runs the hazards and turn signals its like 25 dollars at your gm dealer this should take care of it. Its actual the hazard button this is what the mechanic did on ours and it has worked ever since

Wow I love this website, I am having the exact same problem. I can be at a light with them working waiting to turn, stop working, then start working again all at the same stop :P. anyone have a "how to" to fix this? I'm not much for pulling stuff apart to get to switches without having some photos/how to's.

I also have a magnetic red 2001. Sounds like maybe the color doesn't have anything to do with the problem.

I also have that problem, sometimes cycling the hazard switch gets the signals going again and sometimes I have had luck by pushing the telescoping steering wheel switch on/off and moving the wheel in/out!

Pain in the butt.
