What is the best cold air intake for my 2003?
Everyone claims their brand of cold air intake is the best ? I have no idea. Only know of the K&N, but I realize there are many more just as good without the name brand high price. Any help ?[/color]
First of all, Welcome 50
This has been discussed quite a bit here in the forum, and it seems the 2 that stand out the most is the HALTECH STINGER, and the CALLAWAY HONKER.
The Haltech is a easy install, but is not C.A.R.B. compliant. The Callaway is, from what i gather much more involved to install, and involves cutting out your lower radiator cover to get the "cold" outside air in. The Callaway also relocates the MAF sensor next to the throttle body. It is C.A.R.B. compliant (50 state legal).
Of course there are many more good C.A.I's out there, I would just say the best bang for you buck is the Haltech, and if you have about $500.00 to spend, than go with the Callaway. These just seem to be the 2 that get all the exposure here lately.
Myself i am going to give the Callaway a try, just ordered it, so we'll see when it gets here. Later down the road i plan on adding the Granatelli high flow MAF sensor also for even more air into that throttle body.
