Default Cold air intake

Is anyone running an aftermarket cold air intake? If so, which one are you running? There looks to be a 10-15 hp increase depending onwhich one you buy.

I did a little research over on LS1tech. It seems the Vararam air intake is pretty popular. Anyone here running it?

I had one, as well as a Blackwing CAI. The Variram kit I got was hard to install and needed modification to fit (parts seemed warped), but others I've talked to got good kits that fit well.

Count on only 1/3 to 1/2 the HP addition claimed when you put a CAI on. I've dynoed before and after: about 3-6 RWHP increase depending on the model and type.

Did you have to do any work under the C6 or could it be done all from the top? I have no lifts or ramps to use

Well, you have to access the underside of the front fascia, but you can do that with it on the ground on on ramps only a few inches raised.

The Vararam claims gains of 15 hp, 3 tenths off the quarter mile time and 3 mph on the trap speed. I'd really like to believe that but......it sounds to good to be true.

Well, its not that expensive and it will help some. Even if you get only half that HP its still a fairly good deal.
