Default X-pipe...worth it?

hey guys, I have an 04 Z06 that I have bought a new B&B Bullet exhaust for. Before installing I want to know if it would be beneficial to install an x-pipe, too. What are the benefits of the x-pipe with this install. Better sound? More power? Thanks for your help.

Maybe a bit more power but the Z's flow pretty good already.

you will have a little bit better flow = a little bit better power = a little bit louder resonence in the exhaust(so it going to louder) oh nice choice on the exhaust they make a quality product.

P.S.the exhaust system will give you more power than OEM and in addition the X will make it more equal flow and free just make sure not 'free' it up too much or else you will loose all of your flow, backpressure and power.

The x pipe will improve performance, but I disagree with it making your car louder. I experienced less of a staccato (pop pop popping) in my exhaust, it smoothed it out quite a bit. Inside the car is less noisy now too.

I think it gives you a little more power and it does smooth things out so that there is no irregular popping sounds.I'm happy with mine.

The '99 C5 I bought a few months ago already had the Corsa cat-back exhaust w/ x-pipe already installed. It seemed a bit "peppy" with this exhaust. Good throttle response, etc. I was going back and forth between "Shorty" or "Long tube" headers for awhile, but eventually went with the shorties to utilize what I already had. I wanted something that bolted right-up, so I could do it (no welding, etc). Most long tubes require that you also purchase the high flow cats and x-mid pipe.

Anyway, I ordered the BBK shorties and installed them today. Took about 5.5 hours at a leisurely pace. Throttle response is very good and WOT is better, but I need a tune. Overall, I am satified.

An X pipe helps but the best thing I did was take out the mufflers and put in some small 10inch glass packs.
