Default Which year(s) are best?

I've wanted a Corvette for over 20 years and now have the money and buying one within the next 30 days. I am looking at 97-2000 convertible fully loaded. Does anyone know which year is considered the best? Least amount of problems? How about a site that has old reviews on these years? I've looked but can't seem to find any reviews other than current models.
Preferences:
Convertible, Fully loaded, Automatic, Silver, Well taken care of.

The 01-04s have many improvements over the earlier years, so I'd stick with them. The exception may be early-year 01s - some had oil consuption problems and many were reringed by the dealer. A list of improvements in 2001 can be found here:

Good luck.
