Default Which series has the best mechanical design?

Just as through the years one or two models of RCA color television stood out as the best overall design, my question to you experts is which series or year within a design series has the best overall track record for both performance and reliability?

Amen music man... im having so many problems with my 94, i dont think it was kept up with well by the previous owner, but just after a year of owning the darn thing, im ready to buy a lincoln. Or maybe a truck. It just isnt worth having to deal with it just to be able to go down to the beach with the top off and ride around. My job is more important to me than driving a sports car instead of luxury. If i wouldve bought a C3 or below, i wouldve expected these problems seeing as how it would not be a daily driver. But i know people driving 4 banger domestics older than my car with twice the mileage and they still run better than mine. Im not too happy.

Although I still love my car, I can relate. I've owned this 85 since September and since have had to replace transmission, radiator, rack and pinion, exhaust (the exhaust wasn't a choice of performance either. The y pipe rotted in half). I chock all of this up to it being a 21 year old car. I still don't think the other fella that owned it took very good care on the upkeep. I changed the plugs and they had no gap from being so old and carboned up. I bought the car from a source that said that they do inspections to make sure nothing is wrong or worn but I guess they didn't do a very good inspection. I bought it because they said they did inspections on all of their incoming cars. I think, I hope that I have everything sort of in order so that the car will be good for at least a while. Like I said before in another post, my wife would like to torch this car.

In my opinion, in terms of sheer dominance of the street scene, technical content compared to its contemporaries, and quality relative to the standards of the time, the 66-67 big-block Sting Ray (427 cubic inch) was the best ever.

I always liked the '71-'72 best.

Corvette king is right, theirs something special about driving a corvette. my 86 has 83k on it and it runs and looks great. I always like the early c-4 model except the 84 cross-fire engine. Drive fast and hard...thats a Corvette..

I couldn't have said it better myself KING, my wife makes fun of me because I bought one, but nothing I have driven before or since has the history or feel of a vette. Mine is still a work in progress, but it even makes driving to work fun!
