Hi i'm new to the forums. I have a daily driver here in Vegas that i'm looking @ putting the ATI Procharger kit on. Any words of wisdom from those of you that have this would be apprecaitted. IE: were to get it installed, any driveabilty issues, too much power, fuel system not adequete. Anything to help guide me through the purchase and install.

Yeah, I have a Procharger D1SC for my vette, its the same case as the P model used most often on stock vette engines but upgraded to blow more air for built-up engines that can take more boost. The kits for the C5 and C6 are about identical.

I'm really not pleased with Procharger. After only a year of operation the SCr is off the car and on a bench in the shop waiting for parts. Apparently, a common problem with ATI Prochargers is that they warp/twist/break their tensioner/idler pulley bracket, and thereafter they throw the eblt every once in a while. Procharger offered to put on a new bracket on it if I would send the unit back to them (they would not just ship me a replacement, the bastards) but why replace bad with bad?

I am waiting for a new, upgraded bracket from A&A (see: https://www.aandacorvette.com/cart/s...p?MainCatID=18).

That fact that someone manufactures a part to fix this flaw in Prochargers pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the situation. I would not install one without buying one of these brackets first and installing it initially.

I really recommend the Magnusen SCr most. I have one on the original stock engine in my vette and it was one of the sweetest setups ever. Easy to install. Lots of torque, lots of HP, and never a problem in two years. You hae to buy a new high-rise hood (and have it painted) to clear the Magnusen, but it is worth it). If you want to keep the stock hood, try a Vortech SCr, but the Magnusen will, overall, please you more I think.

Here is a picture of the Magnusen on the stock Ls6. It was an early one (without an intercoller) and added 110 rWHP with only 5.8 lbs of boost.

I also installed an ATI kit. my main complaint is that it just did not deliver the HP they
advertised. they claim 600 HP. mine gained about 105 HP over stock. have not really
had any problems so far. the original Computer program, they installed (through Fast Chip)
was way off. the extra HP feels good. have done several mods since original install.
