BLUE DEVIL (OR STING RAY)!!!!!!!!!!!!
has n e 1 heard of gm's new blue devil corvette!!!! (they might bring back the old name sting ray or they might call it ss, its still debated) the specs on this thing are friggin sick! with over 600 horses this thing reaches a max speed of about 215 mph! now i am not sure but i think its gonna have a 7.0 liter supercharged v8 engine, but other websites said it was a 6.2 liter supercharged. u gotta see this car it is BOMB! however, 100k is too rich 4 my blood. but wut can u expect from such an awesome car.
oh and i know the car isnt blue in the pic, but wutever. i dont think it matters, just cuz its called "blue" devil

RE: BLUE DEVIL (OR STING RAY)!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, there has been a lot of speculation about it for some time including some pictures of it out on test tracks wearing a boxy, obviously improvised hood bulge to clear "the supercharger." Lots of rumors and different stories. Bob Lutz told MT it would have "over 7 liters displacement" (i.e., it would use the new, decked LSX block), more recent "insider" info says its a reinforced LS3 block with about ten lbs of boost. We'll see, but I doubt you'll see one in my garage: been there, done that, in spades. The problem really is: that much power needs4-wheel drive to control/use it. In a two-wheel drive car it can make for impressive burn outs and high track performance, but its not practical.
I'm actually much more interested in the new 4LT interior option -- a standard 435 HP '08 with paddle shifters, performance axle ratio, and a really nice leather interior rather than the "rubbermaid" interior (as Car and Driver refers to it) would make a very appealing daily driver and weekend get-away car.

I think:
It will not be a 7.0 liter, the displacement will be decreased to 6.2 liters for reliablility reasons, 10lbs of boost is a stretch but that will leave room for the aftermarket.. The supercharger will be water /air intercooled.
I think GM may even lean toward a dohc design similar to the northstar design.. I'd say compression ratio will be kept low.. 9-9.5, I'd say titanium connection rods will be part of the package as well as a forged steel crank, and new forged pistons to handle the cylinder pressures.
If horseopower is 600-650 factory, and the bottom end turns out to be stout enough I'd say you'll see high boost 800-1000 hp cars runnin around on the street.

RE: BLUE DEVIL (OR STING RAY)!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is correct, GM announced that they will be calling the new high perofermance Corvette ZR-1, because they said the SS nametag is dead, the Sting Ray wouldn't make sense because that was the shape of that genration and had noithng to do with anything other than its shape, and Blue Devil is just it's code name because why would they use a name with a (color) in it, it would souind silly to say I drive a "Red" Blue Devil! So it is officially the ZR-1, which makes perfect sense, becasue that was the name of the first real high performance Corvette!
