Default center console

Does anybody know how to take the center console apart on a C6? I have no power in the power outlet inside the armrest. It was most likely like this since new, I never tried it before now. I don't want the dealer crawling all over my car. I checked the fuses and they are good.

Get the service manual. The power outline is most likely controlled by a breaker not a fuse (at least it is on the C5) and what you describes means there is a short somewhere else. Is the outlet the only thing that does not work?

Either way, get the full servicemanual if you intend to start removing things like the console. It's not that difficult to remove by it isn't straightforward, either.

Default RE: center console

Thanks for the reply. I called the dealer and they faxed me a break down of the center console / trim platefrom their computer program. It showed how to remove the smallcenter cover on the console. I didn't want to scratch it.It is where the ride control knobor the pass. seat belt light is depending if you have selective ride or Z51 suspension. It pulls straight up then their are two screws under it that hold the center console in place. The rest of the console / trim plate is held by retainer clips. The power outlet is controled by a fuse located under the pass. floorboard. It was fine. I found theoutlet was never plugged in at the factory.[sm=smiley18.gif]
