Hey guys, my gf's step dad just got a c6 and he's getting exhuast fumes inside the cab. It only has just over 14,000 miles but its been built a little and has some type of short throw shifter in it and i was told there is some type of rubber boot you have to cut to make the new shifter fit??

Well anyways, to back this opinion up there is quite a bit of heat that surrounds the shifter boot and feel even more heat at the front of the center console where the accessory outlet is located. I need to know how the console comes out or a easy way to get the shifter boot up so I can see if there is some gasket in there and make sure its not damaged. Any help would be great.

Oh and if you need details on the shifter let me know and I will find out as soon as i can.
