Default Driver's Compartment Size

I recently looked at a 2007 coupe to buy, beautiful car at a great price. The problem was that the driver's compartment was very confined. I'm 6'3'' and 250 lbs. With the seat all the way back my legs were still bent under the dash and my head was close to the ceiling with my line of sight just under the sun visor. There were no more adjustments in the seat to remedy either issue. I used to own an '86 Vette and remember that it was much more comfortable. I had to pass up buying the 2007 because of this issue. I'm still in the market so my question is do the C5s have more room? Does Corvette offer any height suggestions or limits? I'm not opposed to looking at late model C4s either. I know nothing can substitute sitting in the car and taking a test drive, but I thought some of you guys might have more info or at least an opinion on the this topic.

Welcome to the forums. That's a common complaint on a lot of different Corvettes. Several things you can do if you really like the car. Swap out the seat to sport type seat, for a lower position and thiner seat back. Change the headliner if possible to a thinner liner or if possible a sunroof. A few inches makes a lot of difference. I replaced the foam in my 77 and it puffed up the seats a lot. I almost wished a would have just added a little more foam to my old seats. You do have the option also to take the old seats and shrink them down (thinner foam) and keep them comfortable. I'm still using my old rebuilt seats but I removed the adjusters from the bottom of the seats, used two steel straps bolted to the bottom of the seats and then to the floor, no adjustments unless I shim. Sounds like a lot of work Right. But it works. Still thinking about replacing the seats.
