First Vette
Like most people in this forum, I have dreamed of having a Corvette since my early youth. I had that dream come true today as I drove home my brand new 2008 Victory Red Vette!!! This is one of the rare times that realization actually matched anticipation. What a beautiful machine. I must admit that I have been guilty of stepping out to the garage every few hours just to look at it again. I am looking forward to many "miles of smiles" in my new car. I have been reading this forum for quite some time now while researching my purchase...thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge regarding the C-6.

Congrats on your purchase, I know the exact feeling. I used to go in the garage when I first got mine "just to check it out" every time I passed the door. Post some pics when you get a chance so we can check it out too. Have fun and remember to wave.

RE: First Vette
Congrats on your purchase. The day I drove my C5 home for the first time was absolutely amazing. No car had ever made me feel that way. Now I just can't wait to get back behind the wheel of a Vette again,I'm starting to go crazy without one.

RE: First Vette
Good luck with your new vette. I had 2 since last year the 1 st black 6 speed no other extras had 22inches of water in it when my street flooded with under 3000 miles on it . This might sound crazy but it was the best thing to happen. I was able to go and get a 2007 lemans blue with a 6speed and z51 pkg.Coupe. and it rides and handles so much better than the first one . It is only a car but what a car !!!!!.I am 60 and waited all my life for one . When I got the 2 nd I went out a got a tatto of the C6 emblem on my arm and mind you I dont have any tatto's. Do what I did Instead of going out to the garage I took the top off put on saliva and took a video of driving and bring the car up to 140 mph. and a bunch of stills and I watch them on the comuptor at night. I just sit back and remember the rush from that day and feel so happy I got this american sports car. Good luck and wear it well!

RE: First Vette
I've driven a few different generations of Corvette's and it always amazes me how fun they are to drive compared to other cars, even though my car is OLD OLD OLD, if I haven't driven it in a few weeks and I get it out, it still surprises me! this coming from a guy who used to make fun of Corvette owner's because they're "stupid"
