I have a 2010 Grand Sport Convertible with a power top. Just started having a problem where the tonneau cover will not release. This happens when lowering and/or raising the top. I've checked to make sure the protective panels are secured in the truck space and made sure the trunk lid was securely closed. Engine running, trans in neutral, parking brake set, all per the manual instructions. When lowering, the top will start it's folding phase and then it just stops because the tonneau cover does not release. When trying to raise the top, nothing at all happens because the tonneau cover does not release which is the first step in the process. After continued attempts, the tonneau cover does eventually release. The local Corvette repair shop said they never heard of this problem. Has anyone else encountered this issue and if yes, what was the corrective action? Thanks

While I'm not familiar with that model, it sounds like it could be an electrical problem. Could be a bad connection to the mechanism that unlocks the tonneau cover.

 

I had a similar problem with my 2012, and had to replace the tonneau cover latch actuator. In my case the top would lower, but the latch wouldn't lock.
